Our Treatments FAQs
There are tremendous benefits to be achieved through regular massage therapy treatments from a Registered Massage Therapist. Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being as well as your quality of life.
Massage therapy benefits people of all ages. While it benefits the injured, the ill and the stressed, the strength of massage therapy in preventing illness and conditions before they develop cannot be overlooked. Massage therapy can be used in the treatment of both acute and chronic stages of conditions.
Therapeutic massage is an important part of your health maintenance plan, by:
- Reducing or eliminating pain
- Improving joint mobility
- Improving circulation
- Improving immune system functioning
- Increasing lymphatic drainage
- Reducing depression and anxiety
- Reducing tension within muscles
- Increasing body awareness
There are few contraindications to massage or manual lymph drainage, and they don’t always mean that a treatment cannot take place. This will be discussed during your consultation. It is important that you let your therapist know of any medical conditions you have and those you suffered from in the past. For some conditions, we might ask you to confirm that you have checked with your doctor before starting massage therapy. This is not often required, but if you are unsure, ask your medical practitioner and/or mention it to us at the time of booking.
In any case, it is advisable to avoid a heavy meal within an hour prior to treatment, and to not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Yes it would perfectly safe but certain oils should to be avoided such as basil, cedar wood, juniper berry, marjoram, myrrh and sage.

Holistic therapies look at the whole person not just their presenting symptoms as in orthodox treatment. The clients past and present health and lifestyle are all taken into consideration.
